During my 2 weeks internship at Gary Soo’s Chamber, I’ve gained practical exposure to legal work, especially in the field of construction law. By sitting in on meetings, I observed how legal dispute advisors engage with clients and apply legal reasoning to real-world issues. Conducting legal research allowed me to reinforce concepts I’ve studied in the past and show how they’re used in professional settings. Mr. Soo and other barristers were always willing to offer guidance and feedback, especially on how to conduct legal research effectively, which was incredibly helpful. This experience helped me sharpen my analytical skills and gave me a clearer understanding of the legal profession. I highly recommend any Hornellian who hopes to pursue a legal career to apply for an internship at Gary Soo’s Chamber, it’s a truly rewarding experience.
