Thanks to Hornell Hall for nominating me to work as a summer trainee at Build King Civil Engineering Limited. Over these two months, I have gained invaluable insight from this internship experience. My main responsibility is to assist my seniors with their tasks, such as processing the records of transportation of soil, supervising the measurement of the weight of trucks, and organizing the record of daily work on site. This internship experience has deepened my understanding of the operation of a construction site and how certain parts of structures, buildings, roads… are built in practice, the materials and plants used, and the reasons behind choosing specific materials and methods for construction. In addition, the most important lesson that I learnt from this experience is that good communication between different roles is key to the construction being done. Finally, I am grateful that Hornell Hall has provided me with this invaluable internship opportunity.
