Last summer, I was fortunate to be nominated by Hornell Hall for an internship opportunity at Build King. During the internship, I gained valuable experiences from the construction industry and developed both technical and professional skills that will benefit my future career.

My key responsibilities included assisting with site operations, preparing and reviewing submissions and supporting the team with documentation and coordination work. Working on a live construction project allowed me to observe how theoretical knowledge is applied in practice and to better understand the day-to-day challenges of site management and project delivery.

This experience strengthened my skills in documentation, teamwork, and professional communication. I also learned the importance of attention to detail, time management, and clear coordination between different parties on site. The supportive guidance from my supervisor and colleagues made the learning process both productive and enjoyable.

I am deeply grateful to Hornell Hall for the nomination and to the team at Build King for providing such a meaningful and enriching internship experience. I would strongly encourage fellow Hornellians to seize similar opportunities, as the practical insights gained on site go far beyond what can be learned in the classroom.
